Question 1
The interview process was reasonable and then offered role but then fell apart at contract stage.
Equinix mandate in the contract that new hires in the UK must opt out of the 48 hour working week protection (it states that you can opt back in with 3 months notice).
I advised that I did not wish to opt out, particularly due to having a disabled child and political belief. Equinix refused to remove this clause, I even contacted ACAS who gave me guidance that employers should have opt outs separate to the contract and any opt out must be freely given.
