J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Evite (Los Angeles, CA) en nov. 2024
Entretien
I was contacted by an outside recruiter retained by the Evite team. The initial interview went well as I was clearly a good fit, with 5 years of DT2 experience, and over 10 years of PM and product organization experience. They suggested some resume edits to highlight relevant experience. I was then passed on to their internal HR rep, with whom I had a good conversation. I was then schedule to meet with their President/CPO/CMO (a title that might stand to some as a yellow flag). She was about 8 minutes late to our 30 minute teleconference, and spent the last 5 minutes coordinating a catering delivery for the lunch meeting scheduled on the immediate heels of our appointment. I was told by Evite's HR and the recruiter that I would hear back one way or another within the week. Follow up inquires weeks later went unanswered. Researching both the President and her EVP of Product, both appear strongly oriented towards hiring women in their age cohort as a philosophical principal. Four months after my interview they hired a PM with about 8 years fewer experience than me. She is a woman in their age cohort. I never received a missive declining my candidacy.

Question 1
Can I work in the office? (Yes)
Can I start ASAP? (Yes)
Do you have DT2 experience? (Yes)
Tell me about yourself. (2 minute overview)
Typical phone screen then spoke with the hiring manager. Extremely unprofessional experience. Right out the gate the manager commented on “how young I looked” and asked if I was fresh out of graduate school, which I have been out of for 4 years. They asked about my background and the entire time was distracted/not paying attention and continued to interrupt me asking about my total experience after the “I look young” comment. Complete waste of time and ultimately very disappointing for me to see a company I researched and respected give me little to consideration because of how I looked on a video call.
