I applied online while I lived in Jinan, and I was called in for an interview. I planned a whole fast-train trip around the interview and found a place to stay. The interview itself was very positive. I met with a foreign marketing director and a couple other employees including the Chinese HR. I had a really good feeling, and they kept expanding the scope of their questions about my experience and vision. Then they called in some other staff that weren't planned to be part of the interview because they liked me so much. When I left, everyone was gushing and they promised to follow up with me. I thought I'd receive an offer. But then HR never replied to another email ever again. Not honest. Not professional.
