      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Fair (Los Angeles, CA) en mars 2021

      Entretien

I was contacted for a phone screen and signed up for one of the recruiter's available slots. He texted me ten minutes after the interview was supposed to begin because something come up with his family, which was fine. We rescheduled for the next day at the same time. He no-showed the next day as well, and didn't respond to my text. Two hours later, he called and said he forgot to put the new interview in his calendar and we went ahead with the interview since I was relieved to have finally gotten him on the phone. The phone screen was standard, with him confirming my background/experience and asking what values I wanted a company to have. He emailed me that afternoon and confirmed that I would be moving on to the technical interview. The technical interview was a video call with one of their engineers, who seemed to be much more interested in getting advice on how to run an agile team than he was on evaluating my experience. I understand that this was a technical interview, but it didn't really seem like he knew the answers to the questions he was asking. It turns out that the team really needed help refining their process, as they had started off by making some basic agile mistakes and now their velocity was completely off. Even though I had done two interviews with them, Fair rejected me with the same impersonal form email that they send to people who don't receive a phone screen.

      Question 2

This has been happening with our team, so I want to hear if this has happened to you before and how you would handle it. What would you do about developers who spend too much time in the sprint planning meeting discussing the technical details of the user stories? (Technical)
