      Entretien

I applied and about 3 weeks later heard back for an initial interview with the community engagement team lead (extremely kind and passionate about his work at Aunt Bertha). After that, there's a case study you'll need to complete if you pass the first interview. If you do well on the case study, you'll be interviewed by a panel of community engagement managers. After that, if you move on again, you'll interview with 1-2 of the leadership folks.

      Entretien

I applied online and received a quick (within a week) reply from a hiring manager to set up an initial phone interview, which was set up for the following week. The call included the hiring manager as well as another manager who was familiar with the role. Both were very friendly and engaging. I felt the call was productive and they not only asked me about my job history and why I wanted to work for the company, but also gave me time to ask questions. The next day, I received an email from the manager who was on the call asking me to complete a case study. The case study was a bit lacking in details and there was no timeframe given on when it was expected back. After reviewing it and compiling questions, I emailed her back the next day with some questions to clarify the project scope as well as when she wanted it completed by. I heard nothing back. I sent the email again a couple of days later and still got no response, so I proceeded to complete the project with my understanding of it and returned it within a week of the original request. The case study took an entire weekend to complete. After that, there was no response, not even an acknowledgment of receipt. I followed up about 10 days later and still heard crickets. A month later, I heard from the hiring manager saying they were still reviewing the submissions and that they were in a bit of a holding pattern at the moment. I let them know I was still interested and would be happy to wait for them to resolve any issues they were having with the hiring process. I followed up again a month later just to reiterate that I was very interested and got no response. Two weeks later, I got a perfunctory email from the other manager saying they'd still not filled the role but decided to pass on my candidacy. All in all, I think the company's mission is both inspirational and essential. I believe I would have been able to make a positive contribution to expanding their presence in my area - particularly in onboarding community- and faith-based service providers - but can understand if they found a candidate who was more qualified. I just wish that the process would have been more transparent and that the managers would have been more responsive. It doesn't speak well for a company that's mission is helping people to be so unresponsive to those interested in helping them grow, which is why I'm giving it a negative rating.
