The interview process was relatively simple. I walked in the front door with my résumé in hand and asked if they were hiring truss designers. I was immediately brought into the GM's office and he asked about my previous experience in the industry and familiarity with the design software that they used. That conversation lasted maybe 10 minutes.
I was told to come back the next morning to sit with the design manager and demonstrate my understanding of the design software. After another 10-15 minutes of that and proving I could read a set of blueprints, the design manager took me back to the GM's office, said I was capable, and they had me fill out new hire paperwork on the spot. I started as a full time employee the next day.
It was a quick and informal hiring process, but it was a lot smoother and more enjoyable than the standard hiring process that most companies seem to use.
