The process involves a written application, with 2 essays (a personal statement and a project proposal), 3 letters of reference, transcripts, short answers, and an on-campus interview. The written part was much more difficult than the other parts. Each university has a set number of students they can recommend after the on-campus interview. I was interviewed by professors that knew me already so I was very comfortable.

Rather lengthy application process and wait, if you apply though your university, you will likely have interview at that location. If you cannot physically be there, they would likely have an online interview. Room consisted of 3 or so Fulbright alumni or those associated with university administration. Generic questions. Read your essay before and be ready to elaborate on key points.

Interview with my university, and then it's just based on the application, the application took me forever though trying to write the essays over and over again! Some people did it last minute, but I sent my essay to multiple people and probably rewrote it more than a dozen times
