      Entretien

applied online 7/25. 8/3 I received a link to an assessment. 8/7 I received a request for phone interview. This was scheduled 8/10. These were general questions. Another phone interview set 8/12. This interview was the behavioral portion. The next stage is a"monitored" assessment. They had to stay on the phone while I completed it. 8/19 I received a call from the recruiter. I was informed they no longer had any openings in my town. The recruiter wanted to know if I was willing to relocate about 100 miles away. On my initial application I marked I was not interested in relocating. I told the recruiter I was not willing to relocate at this time. The recruiter brought up commuting. I said I would consider it. The recruiter said she would check with the manager and confirm commuting was an option. She said to call her back on 8/24. 8/24 I left a message. 8/25 the recruiter called me back and said commuting was ok. The next day I received a call to schedule the role play. We scheduled for 8/27. The role play was in the city 100 miles away. Upon arrival for the role play, which was at Insurance Auto Auctions (not a Geico office), I waited for over 30 minutes before a Geico employee came to get me for the role play. At the end of the role play, the person leading the role play interview said normally at this time the manager would meet you but he is out of town. Then he said we will evaluate all the information and give it to the manager. If you pass the manager will call you to schedule another interview. it will probably be next week when that happens. The next day the manager called to schedule another interview. Set for 9/4. This interview was with an Auto Damage Manager. He asked a lot of similar questions the recruiter asked during the behavioral interview time. He read the questions from a computer. Very scripted. He recorded my answers as I provided them. Toward the end of the interview he asked if the recruiter told me about the salary. I said $40,000. He said, I think the salary in "your" city is $44,000 but I'm not sure. We had some more discussion during which he mentioned "my" city again. So I asked if the position was in "my" city or "his" city. He said we really don't have an opening in "your" city. The opening is in "my" city. At this point I'm really confused, because he keeps mentioning doing the job in "my" city but they don't have a position there. So I bring up the commute and how the recruiter initially mentioned it and told me it was ok. The manager said "we do not like our people to commute like that". "We want them to live in the area they are working". Then he said he would get with the Director of the program and determine if they had an opening in "my" city or not. He would also confirm the correct salary and let me know. 8/10 the manager called me to let me know they would leave me in "my" city and the salary would be $38,174. The Coordinator of the MDP program would call me to schedule a conference call with the Director. The Coordinator called 8/11 to schedule. She asked if I had access to video calling. I was not sure, since I have never done that. I told her I have a laptop that might have it but even if it doesn't, I will do whatever I have to do to make it happen. She said she would get with the Director and confirm a time. I asked if they were still targeting October 5th for the start date. That is only 3 weeks away and I do not have a job offer yet. I need time to give a formal notice to my current employer and also notify my family that I would basically be gone from home for 3 months. She confirmed yes. I also confirmed this was the last step in the process. Toward the end of the day on 8/14, I called the coordinator. She said I still haven't been able to confirm a time with the Director to schedule the phone interview. I acknowledged the situation and told her I was calling to let he know I do have video option on my laptop. She seemed very excited about it. The Coordinator called 8/17 to schedule the interview on 8/21 at 10:00 am. This was to be done via Skype but she provided a conference call number and access code in case it did not work. We attempted to connect via Skype but we were not successful. I was told I was the first person they tried to do it this way. They appreciated my willingness to try it and patience in the process. After the pleasantries were over, the Director said "tell me how you got to this point; start from when you graduated High School and take me through everything up to now". I told my story. The Director then asked if I had any questions. I asked a few questions. Then the Coordinator asked "your application is marked you are not willing to relocate. Are you willing to relocate in the future for a promotion"? I said yes I am open to relocating in the future and for a promotion. They said they would evaluate the call and let me know. At the end of the day I get a generic email That I was not chosen.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about a time you set a goal for yourself and how did you go about achieving it? Give me an example of a time you managed multiple priorities and what happened? Tell me about a time when you had to persuade someone to accept your point of view? Give me an example of a time when you had to explain something fairly complex to a frustrated client. How did you handle this delicate situation? Tell me about a time you were criticized by a supervisor for something you did at work and how did you handle it?
