No process really. I applied over two months ago. Other than an automatic thank you for applying email didn't hear back at all. Nothing in spam - I checked.
Their application platform does not have an option for saving an application profile or any way to follow up.
Just wanted to leave this feedback - Gitlab doesn't seem to be following its own handbook which is a bit concerning since my biggest reason for applying was the idea of an honest, responsive and transparent company that actually does what it says it would. Especially one so outwardly "loud" about it's own handbook. Big red flag for me from the get go.
As to showing respect for others, when an applicant takes the time to research your company, tailor an application (resume and cover letter) to apply for a position - it would be nice if you make sure to respond in a timely manner.
Advice to gitlab: QA your recruiting platform and flag any applications pending over a certain number of days for follow up.
