The process began with a 30-minute behavioral interview, which was straightforward and well-structured. A week later, I moved on to the technical round, and that’s where things took an unexpected turn. I didn’t proceed further after this stage.
The technical interview was one of the weakest I’ve encountered. Two interviewers attended: one barely spoke or asked anything, and the other seemed disengaged and operating at the bare minimum. The tone was off from the start.
The opening question was unusually aggressive:
“Your resume mentions Databricks and also Snowflake. Which one is actually true? Or are any of these true?”
For context, my resume lists Databricks and snowflake schema, not the Snowflake platform. I answered plainly:
“Actually, it’s snowflake schema, not the Snowflake platform....”
At first, I assumed this was an intentional stress tactic to gauge how a candidate handles pressure in a client-facing environment. As the conversation continued, it became clear this wasn’t a designed behavioral test, it was simply how they ran the interview.
Overall, the experience didn’t reflect a mature or well-structured technical evaluation process. It left me questioning the team’s preparedness and professionalism.
