In December 2019 I received a message from a recruiter on LinkedIn. She had been looking for a Java engineer. We had a phone call and then she organized a technical pre-screening interview. At Glassdoor.com I found the questions they regularly ask in interviews to make myself more prepared. An interviewer asked me about Java core, multi-threading, JVM, and gave a simple task to write code. My answers weren’t perfect, but I didn’t give up and struggled to discover solutions. I didn’t stay quiet and reasoned out loud to show my thoughts. I was motivated and inspired because I wished to make this career switch and enhance my skills. After the pre-screening examination, I wrote out the poorly answered questions. The next day, they called me to make an appointment on Monday. I had been preparing all weekend. My specific focus was on the questions I answered poorly on the prescreening. Also, I downloaded the free version of the product and studied its main functionality. The second interview was tougher. I describe it in detail in the questions sections. Both interviews strengthened me as a specialist. I sent a letter to the recruiter about how I appreciate their time and thanked them for the proposed opportunity. They reached out to me the next day and said that they wish to hire me and proposed to wait two days for a job offer. I was amazed and inspired as well as stayed nervous before receiving the official job offer.
