The first interview went extremely well. My experience aligned closely with the role and even exceeded several of the requirements. However, the second interview was a very different experience. From the moment I joined the call, the interviewer seemed visibly irritated. She rolled her eyes multiple times, and after I answered her questions, she would stare at me in silence before reading the next question in a flat, monotone tone. It felt as if she was uninterested, disengaged, and simply trying to get through the call as quickly as possible.
Each time I provided thoughtful, relevant answers, often adding context to show I could deliver beyond what was being asked, she appeared even more bothered. It genuinely felt like my experience or presence agitated her. I’m not sure if she wanted the role for herself or was hoping to refer someone else, but her demeanor shifted the moment the call began.
Ultimately, she was the person who decided not to move me forward in the process. My impression is that she may have been screening out strong candidates. Regardless, I wish Grindr the best and would consider reapplying in the future, likely once she is no longer with the company. Overall, it was an unusually uncomfortable and unprofessional experience.
