Cold message from the CEO with a calendly link saying they were interested. Signed up for the next week, asked where to send my resume & portfolio, heard nothing. The interviewer was 10 min late, had not looked over my information, shared financial details of the company (raw data), the fact that the majority of their help comes from digital teams in Argentina and overseas in Asia and personal photos of his vacation.
He asked no questions about how I could help the company. At the end of the interview he shared a Google Doc with "take home questions" which were completely spec work of upcoming projects. I'm a consultant and I would estimate this doc represented $5-20K of work.
I wrote back before the questions were due to ask if I could share some work I've already done that spoke to my qualifications, heard nothing. Followed up a week later, nothing.
Upon review, it looks like they've been "hiring for" this position for at least a few months. Especially given that they asked questions like "Share a list of reporters that you would target to pick us up. What would be your target KPIs?" I would warn any true professional away from this headache.
