Interview was physical but was informed of written assessment the morning of which prolonged the entire process. Questions were mostly about past experience while written assessment was more on practical matters (drafting, advisory). Interview was with Head of Legal and one HR staff.

Incredibly drawn-out and racially discriminatory interview experience. It was an on-site interview for the first round. I genuinely greeted with a respectful and positive energy. However, the interviewer (HOD) was looking at me like I'm a freak of nature and rubbed and pinched her nose as well the entire interview. I have never ever experienced this in any other on-site interview ever. Furthermore, HR didnt do any of this. I felt like a beggar at some point, with the way the HR and HOD were talking to me. External Recruiter tells the role is for Hong Leong Bank, the JD does not disclose name of company. In person, the interviewer tells me its for Hong Leong Financial Group. The recruiter at Hong Leong who emailed me the interview confirmation did not even have an email signature that says Hong Leong Financial Group or Hong Leong Bank. I took all the effort, to prep for Hong Leong Bank, take leave from my current work and go on-site, only to be racially discriminated. HR did try to act like she was smarter than me. Even with the interviewer's condescending tone, I ensured I kept a very respectful closing and thanked them for their time. I really dont see the need to treat any candidate in this way. We are all human beings innit. The role has been open since Feb 2026, and is still being interviewed to date.
