I recently interviewed for a mid-level position at Hovione, for which my experience and background were a 100% match, perhaps even slightly overqualified.
The initial contact was through a recruiter who seemed a bit unclear about the position’s details and responsibilities. Despite that, we scheduled a screening interview. The recruiter joined the meeting late, asked several questions that felt out of context, and appeared somewhat unprofessional even vaping during the Teams interview.
Nevertheless, the recruiter’s tone, body language, and expressions suggested positive feedback. They mentioned they would forward my CV and schedule a meeting with the hiring manager.
After three weeks without any updates, I followed up by email requesting feedback but received no response. Another three weeks later, I only received an automated message stating I had not been selected for the position.
While the outcome was disappointing, the experience raised concerns about the professionalism and candidate experience during the recruitment process.
