I am, or was, a passionate ipster and I was excited when they had an open role for a Recruiter. My background was a great match (top 10% of candidates according to LI) and I love their product. I was contacted within minutes of submitting my resume. A coordinator scheduled a call with the CEO. Despite the fact that I have the skills and am very familiar with the company, the call did not go well. The call was late and he was rude. The questions were formulaic and responses to my answers was minimal. I attempted to express my enthusiasm for the product but was derailed. Despite my initial excitement, I got off the phone feeling defeated, it drained all my energy. There was no response to my thank you note. There was no response to my follow up emails. They have reposted the job a few times since then so it is clear that I am not a viable candidate to them. In fact, the only response I did receive was from Customer Service when I cancelled my subscription.
