Dishonest, deceptive, borderline illegally discriminatory, extremely stingy company. I do NOT recommend applying here or using their service. The CEO and CMO advertise "job" positions when in reality the entire company has no permanent employees and hires contractors only. The "co-founder" and many of the employees listed on IVPN's website left the company long ago or are no longer affiliated (is that a red flag?) Most of the CEO's current hires work from Ukraine with one from Hungary and southern Spain apparently - none of which I guess are places known for a great job market. He is a South African without an undergraduate degree. The CMO has no college degree either. There were three rounds of interviews for this position - first round with the CMO, second round to submit a sample article as would be written on their blog, and a final interview with the CEO. I progressed through all three. The company would not pay more than $0.25/word for a 1,500 word original research article they demanded I write in under a week as part of their interview process. The CMO seemed duplicitous and was not a transparent communicator. I showed up to our first interview formally dressed whereas he was sweating in a v-neck and looked like he had just come back from the gym and not seriously prepared for it at all. During my final interview with the CEO, he directly asked me "What is your disability?," a question I believe illegal in the US and UK, and then tried to quickly hedge by rephrasing "Could you tell me how your disability might impact you at work?" For a supposedly progressive, transparent start-up trying to change the world, this was a disheartening experience. Despite the company's claims about its "uniqueness" and "commitment to transparency" in this industry, from what I experienced, the plain fact of the matter is that even their "employment" advertisement was literally not for an employee position. I would not trust this company, and, if you have any other job options at all, I would encourage you to prioritize those over IVPN.

Singling out our team members for their nationality, their looks and how they dress, and based on their credentials is a really classy way to provide feedback while claiming discrimination. We have spent dozens of hours interviewing, communicating with candidate, addressing their concerns about our background, process, expectations and multiple other issues - including multiple 1000+ word emails sent to them. Ultimately we have picked another candidate for this role which might not have gone down well for reviewer - we are sorry about that, but we have not regretted our decision. We are happy to hear any evidence about being "deceptive" and "illegally discriminatory", or "stingy". Our long-standing team members and our loyal customer base would probably not share this opinion, which reviewer is of course entitled to. We were clearly not a good fit.
