I interviewed for the Analytical Chemist position at Imbibe over the Summer. The initial stages, including the phone screen with HR and teams interview with the hiring manager, were well-organized. Weeks later, I noticed the position reposted on LinkedIn as "Analytical Chemist - Flavors" and I never heard back. Unfortunately I was not in the flavors industry but during the interview the hiring manager made it seem like that would not be a worry as the instrumentation used and everything else could be taught so I stayed optimistic. If me not being in the flavors industry was what kept me from moving forward I am confused as to why I was given the interviews in the first place. I was unsure whether or not to share this experience but being ghosted is extremely unprofessional. This lack of communication is not only unprofessional but also disheartening, especially considering the time candidates invest in the process. Transparency goes a long way in maintaining a positive employer brand.
