I was contacted by a recruiter. Interview arranged with VP within a week via Teams on 9/6/24. Interview was informal but the weird thing was that the interviewer did not have my CV; the recruiter either had not provided in advance or the interviewer didn't properly check their email.
During the interview, I texted the recruiter to send my CV to the interviewer. But I continued with a narration of my experience. The interviewer was impressed with my varied and in-depth experience and expressed that it was quite relevant to the role at hand. The interviewer was new to the organization but assured that the department is growing with an immediate need for managing a new indication at the clinical stage. I was genuinely impressed with the portfolio as the development drug has a good potential to proceed further in the clinic.
After the interview, I didn't hear for more than 2 weeks and when followed up with the recruiter, I was told that the role was continuing to be pushed further.. whatever it meant. It is unprofessional not to give a valid reason for rejection, it tells a lot about the org culture.
