      Entretien

It's too bad there isn't a "Yes, but they rescinded it" answer to "Did you get an offer?" Indigo offered a verbal offer, then pulled it for one of three reasons: 1. I didn't make a life-changing decision within three days. 2. I had a competing offer. 3. I wasn't "excited for the role" because I was trying to negotiate with them. The interview panel seemed relatively streamlined. HR Screener, 1:1 with the hiring manager, a take-home, a review of the take-home, then a panel with other potential team members. That seemed fine. Things went sideways after they came to me with an offer. It was over the phone with the director of the team I applied to. I was excited about the offer even though the title was lower than what I applied for. They wanted me to say "yes" on the spot, but I told them I needed more time to hear back from other interviews I had completed. After receiving another offer three days later I spoke with the recruiter to negotiate for the title at the level I believed I was applying to. They told me they'd speak with the director about the title. I didn't hear anything for a day, so that following day --one week after I was approached with a verbal offer-- I sent a follow-up email to both the director and the recruiter. The director replied to tell me they had moved on, and that there was no longer an offer since I took more than three days. This seemed contrary to what I heard from the recruiter upon speaking to them on the third day. Upon asking for clarity about that, the director followed up to say that the recruiter told the director I had accepted another offer, so they had moved on to a candidate who was more excited for the role. This contradicted both the earlier message from the director and my own conversation with the recruiter. It's too bad things ended this way. I was excited about working for this company. I'll be sure to follow up any phone conversations with an email summarizing what was discussed in future interviews. This would have helped me know that this was an exploding offer, and helped them know that I had not yet accepted another offer.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

Problem “Build a metric logging and reporting service that takes the sum of a metric within the last hour. You will build a minimal API web server that implements the two main methods defined below. ” POST metric method Stores the value for a given metric key. GET metric sum method Returns the sum of all values reported for this key over the past hour. Clarifications For the sake of the problem, persistence is not required. Therefore don’t use a database but just use in-memory data structures or file storage only. You can use 1 standard server-side library: either JavaScript (Node) or Python (Flask) You should optimize for both the readability of your code and performance. All values will be rounded to the nearest integer. Get rid of any reported data more than an hour old.

Phone screen, technical interview, virtual on-site (about 6 hours) consisting of two-person panels covering different of technical, team fit, and background portions. The entire process felt very stuffy and corporate, which was surprising. Recruiting team was good about expediting process in order to accommodate other interviews of mine. Interviews appeared to go well, and the hiring manager followed up with me by phone, which in all of my prior experiences has implied an offer is being extended, yet in this case I was informed me that an offer would not be made. Why the recruiter I had been in contact with was not the one to convey this information I have no idea, but it came across as very amateurish. After, I was left with very vague feedback that honestly did not seem to apply to me leaving me feeling strung along.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

Standard technical questions, and a "who" interview dedicated to learning about your entire life background, which seemed highly irrelevant at best and an invitation to let preconceived biases influence decisions in at worst.

Phone screen with hiring manager, then in-person interview with other engineers and the VP of Engineering. I really liked the manager and peers, and had great technical discussions with them, and was really looking forward to working there. The worst interview was the therapy session with the VP. It was 2 hours of him assessing my personality, starting with my parents background, where I grew up, where I went to elementary school, my favorite teachers, then thru every job I've ever had. It was supposed to be a "fun" conversation but I found it to be uncomfortable. I never heard back from them so I guess I failed the test.

Hi there and thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy the interview with the hiring manager. This longer interview is part of our overall interview structure, which is based off ghSMART’s approach of getting to know the patterns of somebody’s career history as well as the person themselves. We care a lot about getting to know candidates who will potentially join our company, and this interview is a great way at doing that. However, we realize that not everyone may be familiar with this type of interview so we are proactively providing all of our candidates with an overview of the interview structure. I also apologize that you didn’t hear back after your interview. Our intent is to follow up either way after interviews – please accept our apologies.
