Brief phone screen with HR staff. Standard, very friendly, and positive experience. Then scheduled interview with hiring manager. This was one of the poorest interview experiences I have ever had. Non-technical "panel" interview with hiring manager and the two other employees on the team. Hiring manager's mind was elsewhere and clearly did not want to be there. It was clear that they had not prepped together for the interview, and it was "on the fly" with no standard list of questions. The interview was quite awkward with long pauses, and uncertainty about which of them should ask questions next, and how many questions they could ask. It lasted 50-60 minutes.
