The upper management has no idea what they're looking for. Although the title says Content Manager, I had to break to them that "what you're looking for is a Content Writer".
The CEO was not convinced of my skills and told me the selection will hinge upon my performance in an assignment. Not only I did the assignment flawlessly, I also pointed out the so many irrelevant and pointless things they do with their blogs, showed comparisons with their competitors and gave them the first quarter strategy for Content.
But surprise surprise!! The person was still not convinced.
Moreover, he asked me to justify my salary expectations, and when I did that, rather than saying he cannot meet that, he started accusing me of my skills not being good enough and my reasoning for expected salary being absurd. The only thing I asked him is if you felt that my skill wasn't good enough in the first place and if even my assignment has not convinced you of it, why was I called for the in-person interview and why are we having this talk.
(And all this after I had communicated my salary expectations to the HR in the very first call, to which she said, they're okay to meet.)
To this the person got irated, and disconnected the call.
Such was the negligence and rudeness of the people here that,
1. I was given the incorrect location of the interview, from which the actual place was close to 2 kms far.
2. Even after reaching 10 mins late, I still had to wait for more than half an hour, even though I had "a slot" booked for my meeting.
3. I was not able to understand one of the questions regarding customer acquisition (might have been my fault), to which, at one point, the person said, if you even mention the word 'SEO' again, I'll ask you to get out.
4. The person had not even went through my assignment once, and started asking all the same questions. I had to tell him that everything is there on the assignment and you might want to have a look at it.
