The interview process itself was fine. I applied in January 2016. We had two phone interviews, and then I was asked to come in for an in person interview. I met with around 5 different people who all asked me their own questions including some technical questions. I even met with the CEO. I did okay with the technical questions (I was very nervous since it was my first in person interview), so I figured it could go either way. I emailed the people who interviewed me thanking them for their time, and some of them responded kindly. It seemed like a really nice company, and I was very excited about the possibility of working for them.
So overall, not a terrible experience. I definitely learned a lot; so here's the thing that was negative - they never told me that I was not selected for the position. I sent a quick follow up email two weeks after the interview asking for a status update, no response. I sent another one two weeks after that, nothing. I sent another one a month after that because I've heard that sometimes it takes a month or two for a company to get back to you, still nothing. I eventually was offered a job at a different company, but I am shocked that over a year later, no one had bothered to actually tell me that I was not accepted for the position. If it was just a phone interview, I wouldn't mind, but the fact that I went there the morning after a snow storm and met 5 different people over multiple hours and then never heard from them again is a little ridiculous. Was I not worth the effort of saying "no, thank you"?
I still read their publications and follow their updates on their websites. I still think the company itself is doing incredibly cool things. I may even apply again someday, but this interview experience was a major letdown.
