I applied online, submitted my resume, and was invited to take an initial assessment for English proficiency. Follow-up emails were encouraging, and I was asked to complete another series of assessments spanning three writing tasks and a recorded video response to interview questions. After another week, I received an email that the hiring team was impressed and excited to work with me and move forward. I received another email requesting that I fill out my availability on a calendar and that their team would schedule the last interview shortly after. That follow-up never came. I reached out to check on things and was ignored or ghosted by the person who requested my availability. Finally, I received an email a full week of no response. The email was from another person stating they weren't hiring for the position. I felt this to be highly unprofessional and poorly handled since I was strung along for 3 weeks and spent hours on assessments, scheduling, and waiting, only to be told casually that they didn't even intend to hire for this position, despite it remaining advertised all over job sites and LinkedIn along with hundreds of other listings. After expressing disappointment, I inquired if there was a reason they took 3 weeks to tell me this, and not one of the multiple contacts I responded to has bothered to respond since then.
