The Jeffrey M recruiter contacted me via email to arrange a time for a pre-screen phone interview. Salary expectation was discussed and a stipulation for moving forward in the process was accepting the salary range. Then, an on-site interview was scheduled. I was instructed to ask for a specific person at the front desk in the lobby, however, their building is under renovation and there is no front desk nor a person to man it the lobby (I did not check behind the construction plastic, though!). Asking random people I was able to find the correct floor and correct office, wherein I waited in front of a locked office door for someone to pass by. Someone let me in, and I waited on some couches for the interview. The office had a kind-of college dorm vibe, lots of casual dressed folks, complementary ramen noodles and soda in the kitchen (I was only offered water). The whole interview process was casual and lasted about 30 minutes or so. They said they had other candidates, and would get back to me by the end of the week. That never happened. One more thing to note is that through the entire process I had no idea if this was a job at Microsoft, a job at Jeffrey M, or some other company--to the point where I was wondering around in a building looking for an office of an unknown company (could not utilize the building's directory to locate the office, because of this), getting raised-eyebrows when I asked if anyone knew the location of 'I'm not sure, it might be Microsoft.' They did validate parking, which I thought was nice (otherwise I would have paid $8 for that 30 minutes).
