I was hired when I was 17 as a bagger. It was pretty much a walk on job, because my brother had previously worked at the same location. The interview was actaully more of for being innitiated into the company, just with the formality of an interview. I moved my way to the grocery department after about a year of bagging and pushing carts, and just a few weeks of cashiering.

The director interviewed me, and it was quick. I entered her office hoping I don’t stutter or lack confidence. My resume surprised her since I go to college, but I also do have retail experience. She first asked, “Tell me about yourself.” I did so and she just said “Yeah, I’m going to hire you.” After she asked what position did you apply to and I said general merchandise, but later I changed my mind to grocery. By the way, orientation takes so long!
