I was called soon after filling out the application. The interview was scattered as Kroger had just changed to a new system. Overall it seemed very unprofessional--the interview began a half-hour late and the interviewer took phone calls during the interview. However, the actual interview questions were very easy, and turnaround time from the interview and drug test to beginning the job was very fast.

I applied at location #1 first, waited a week and called for a follow up and they kept transferring me to different people who kept transferring me to a neverending loop. Gave up at that location and applied at location #2 and was called for an interview right away.
When I got there, the customer service desk didnt even know I had an interview today and had to ask if i was in the schedule.
The interviewer was 20 minutes late and had a scruffy appearance, knowing that they wanted me to arrive 15 minutes early and to wear business casual wear. They took me into the back room and into their office that was automatically locked from the outside (but why? For privacy?) i know this because somebody knocked on the office door and the interviewer said "come in!" but then told me it was locked as they opened the door for the person knocking.
The interviewer kept taking calls and delayed my interview even more, they just seemed so unorganized and unprofessional unlike what their website claims their employees to be. Regardless, we filled out the interview paperwork and he said it was a "preliminary" interview and that I would be called for a second interview. I got called the next day by a familiar voice, the person that kept transferring me at location #1. They said they were hiring a new secretary and they will call me for a second interview by today. ive gotten no calls from said secretary at king soopers, the night has already fallen and still no call.
Nevertheless, the interviewer really liked me and suggested me to management as a member of their team. I blame the faulty administrators for the complicated and frustrating hiring process. It is very confusing and if I get called for a second interview, I will most definitely decline due to their crumbling management. They can't even handle the hiring process in a professional and organized manner, imagine how they handle their employees once they're in.

The manager was very disorganized, and she had half the papers for me, and half from a different interview. She had to stop and print the correct paper work for me. She told me that she was running out of time and was going to hurry the interview and rush me on my answers, but still expect me to answer every answer with the best answer I could give, but she often ended up cutting me off of each question. She told me that she only had 25 minutes to do this, and ended up taking over an hour... I was told that she would love to hire me, but she doesn't like that I am a student in college. She said they necessarily don't hate students, but she would always hire a non student over me (a student due to availability issues, even though I was available every day after 12:30pm and some days after 10am). However she said she loved me and wanted to hire me, so she was going to hire me, but just wasn't sure when i can start since i start school in a month. She didn't want me to change my availability and asked if I could change my school schedule around or take different classes so I could work more during the school year. Overall, I finally got hired, but I am not taking the position due to the fact of how I felt during the interview. I was actually very surprised at how difficult some questions were, but was able to answer them all, and she commented on how great I answered these questions.
