      Entretien

I originally posted this review in 2016, but because the company was relatively small at the time, I could not maintain adequate anonymity and was personally attacked for this review. Now that several years have passed, I am going to repost it in full: The interview itself was relaxed and very well conducted. I interviewed with 3 people who were very polite and did a great job making me feel comfortable. They were very informative and their excitement about their workplace, and its growth, was palpable. The entire environment really felt unbeatable. After I left I was really excited. Unfortunately, the way HR conducted themselves over the following days had a huge role in why I turned the position down. I understand that they were looking to fill this particular position quickly, but I felt their behavior came off as excessive. I received 5 phone calls in regards to having my references call them, even going so far as to “strongly suggest I nudge my references to call them.” It was at this point that I started to get uncomfortable. After making an offer at a starting rate less than what I was currently making (yes they said with company bonuses it would equal out to more, but at the end of the day those company bonuses are just potential, not guaranteed) they seemed put off that I asked for time to think it over. I politely explained that I wanted to make sure I was making the right decision and, after HR made me feel like I was asking for something outrageous, agreed to letting them know by lunch the next day (a time period of less than 12 hours). I was still currently employed at the time and couldn't step away to call at the agreed upon time the next day. I received 2 phone calls and a very short email in the span of an hour and a half about taking the job. By this point I was feeling downright attacked about making a decision. **Let me make it clear at this point that I have NEVER been bullied into making a decision about a job, nor have I ever been given, begrudgingly no less, less than 24 hours to make a career change decision. These types of changes are a big deal and the hiring department completely dismissed and tried to diminish the importance of certainty in order to get me in the door.** In all honesty I could have overlooked the pay cut, but I was disappointed about how uncomfortable their behavior made me feel. I left the initial interview really pumped about the company and the job, but the overbearing interactions in the days that followed were, in my opinion, unnecessary. There is a line between urgency and force and sadly I felt my experience leaned more towards force. I hope my interview experience was just a series of unfortunate events, and do wish them continued success.

Nothing out of the ordinary for a standard interview.

Hi ! Wow, sorry that our hiring process at that time was so rough, my apologies. :-/ When a company is in hyper growth sometimes things get a bit hectic. Our HR team at that time was very small, we now have more than 20 people there so the process is a lot more smooth! Warm regards, Stu
