Had two technical interviews over Zoom and one final onsite interview. The process was very quick and the recruiter was moderately communicative.
The company was not transparent about the onsite expectation. I was told explicitly during my initial phone screening that a hybrid (couple of days onsite per month), mostly remote would work for this role. Given the international presence of the company and specifically the GNC team, this made sense.
No mention of this expectation during any of the interviews until the onsite where the expectation became "2 or 3 days onsite per week." I was very excited about this role and would have been a great fit, so I wanted to work with this new expectation given my current living situation and explain I would need time to make that adjustment but could do it. I was met with no flexibility and again with a new expectation of "actually 4 or 5 days in office per week immediately" and was subsequently not extended an offer.
The interview process left me feeling blindsided and led-on, especially since I got along very well with the team and the GNC lead. The impersonal and inflexible end to the process due to a miscommunication on their side left me deflated and with a sour taste in my mouth.
