I applied through a staffing agency. The position was listed as temp to permanent. The interview itself consisted of 2 parts. First was with future supervisor who asked about my background, career goals and provided an overview of the job. Second was with the co-worker I would be working most closely with. Who seemed to try to get a feel for how organized and flexible I would be in the role. Once the 6 month contract was up, the position was posted publicly as required and a second interview had to take place. There was not much room for negotiating salary.
