      Entretien pour Public Affairs Manager

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Lime (Berlin) en avr. 2019

      Entretien

I was first contacted by an HR person for screening purposes, which lasted a mere 15 minutes and was then advanced to the next stage. This stage entailed preparing a case study to be submitted to HR and presented in person to the Director of Government Affairs in Berlin. Due to the short notice, I had to book a flight, which they initially didn’t offer to pay for. When I sent them the receipt for the plane ticket, it took multiple days for them to return my query, in fact I was halfway at the airport, when they finally responded by saying never mind, we can do the interview online. This was another red flag for me. Admittedly, they reimbursed me two weeks later, but this should not have happened in the first place as it does not instill trust in your company. The following week, they scheduled three head-to-head offsite interviews with three employees with different ranks throughout Europe (the third employee canceled and postponed a few minutes into my interview time). I then had another review call, which gave me an opportunity to talk about the process so far and to have any questions I may have answered. Finally, I was told that I'd receive a decision in the following week. On Wednesday the following week I received a cryptic email, saying the team has made a decision without a customary “We regret to inform you or are happy to inform you that…”. So I received another prompt for a call on Friday at 11 am, the recruiter did not show up, I sent the person an email about ten minutes into the interview, no response, then created a link in zoom since the HR person also forgot to send me a link. After about 40 minutes I receive an email with an apology that the system had crashed, and the person was not notified about our meeting. Seemed a little fishy to me, given that everything happened within the google ecosystem. I was then asked if I was available at 6 pm on a Friday, which appeared a little ridiculous, given that it was their fault and I didn’t want to have to spend my entire afternoon anticipating a YES/No answer, so I insisted that I’d prefer an earlier time slot, 5.30pm it was. I was then told that they made a decision in favor of the other contender, which is fair and I was also given the rationale. No qualms there. All in all I liked the interview questions, they seemed more conversational than purely interrogative and also their knowledge about Lime and how it will fit into the new micro mobility paradigm was great. The organization, on the other hand, was a complete catastrophe and undignified, so in case you are desperate for any kind of job I would not recommend applying to Lime at this stage in their development.

      Question 1

How would you react to certain objections (e.g. the question of sustainability, illegally parked scooters)?
