First, we want to clarify that we absolutely do not use our technical challenges to harvest free work. We’ve built far more robust solutions for clients hundreds of times before, created by multiple engineers over the course of many weeks, so we have no material interest in stealing candidates’ work. Also doing so is profoundly unethical and simply not the way we operate our business.
Regarding the technical assessment, we acknowledge it's challenging. The intention is to evaluate how candidates prioritize and make decisions with limited time. We're now implementing clearer guidelines in our test instructions to better set expectations and reduce candidate stress.
Regarding compensation, our salary offers are based on objective technical assessments and aligned with the level of expertise demonstrated. In your case, our assessment indicated a level significantly below what we're currently seeking for open positions. Our records show that the recruiter explained this situation during your feedback call, including that the compensation discussed would only apply if you were to advance further in the process.
We strive to maintain transparent communication throughout our recruitment process. After internal discussions, we determined that other candidates demonstrated skills more aligned with our current needs, which led to our decision not to move forward with your application.
