The first call was with a recruiter/member of HR, to discuss my background in financial services. They seemed to have a strong preference for somebody with a background in financial services and she probed a bit to find out how my background was related.
The second call was with the hiring manager and one of his direct reports, for discussion and technical screening. At the outset of the second call, they asked me to rank my experience in several technologies. After I completed that, the hiring manager and I began a discussion while the technical resource began selecting questions that were associated with the skills I had ranked highly.
