      Entretien

Let me preference this by saying I wouldn't suggest anyone works here. I had an interview with Lunar Cow a few years back. Was excited to get my foot in the door as it seemed like a great place to work if you look on the Facebook page, and the ad stating I could make anywhere from $60,000 to $100,000. The initial interview was alright, primarily the owner telling you how much money you are going to make, had me write down what my salary was going to be ($40,000), plus the commissions everyone is expected to make. Being in sales for some time, I was skeptical of the commission numbers I was being told, but everything else seemed straight forward. The owner explained how he believed "your mind is your most valuable tool, and you should always be bettering it" or something along those lines. Which sounds cheesy, but I do agree and it made me optimistic since I too believe you should always be furthering yourself. It was also explained to me how he (the owner) was able to close every deal he was able to get on the phone. Again, encouraging since I was going into sales, and it seemed to be a sales driven company with an owner who could lead by example. At the end of the initial interview I was told there was a second interview process via phone. There would be a mock sales call set up between myself and the owner. I was told to go home and put together a script. The mock sales call came, and the owner said he would be emailing me an offer... This was when the entire interview became comical. I got an email with an offer $15,000 less than the $40,000 that Ben (the owner) told me to write down the day or two before in the interview... The comical relief in this is the owner, who prides himself on always stimulating and educating your mind couldn't use a sales tactic other than bait and switch. One of the oldest, distasteful, and dishonest approaches to sales EVER. The other comical part is he himself, the same guy who sat in front of me and said he can close anyone over the phone, couldn't make an offer in person, much less over the phone. I assume because he knew it was insulting, and likely embarrassed to be told how full of it he was when doing a bait and switch. This tells me everything I need to know about the type of people I would be working for if I accepted this offer. I would strongly suggest anyone looking for a sales position to look elsewhere. I have doubts in any type of compensation you could really make here if they can't even be honest about the base salary. If sales is something that drives you, find a place that will actually help further your career, not someone who just spews nonsensical garbage and empty promises.
