Interviewing with Lyst was a refreshing experience. There were no lengthy deep dives into my past experiences before progressing the interview process which was nice. I think this meritocratic approach to interviewing is something that we need more of in the UK. The stages I completed included: 1. Small online code challenge 2. Pair programming frontend task 3. System design All the interviewers were very friendly and helped me throughout the process.

Straight forward, well organised but considering the number of stages the process took far longer than it should have. The rounds consisted of 1.) Screening 2.) Take home assignment 3.) pair programming session 4.) System design interview 5.) Behavioural interview.

Initial take home test on some programming and algorithm concepts, then a pair programming session, followed by architecture, and finally a cultural interview in the office. During every stage of the interview everyone was super helpful and incredibly nice. It was genuinely one of the best interview experiences I had and all the interview challenges or questions were relevant to the job you’d be doing. Shoutout to Tom who was always helpful with answering my questions and arranging the interviews. Was very impressed with the option to do the interviews in person as well as it gave me a good idea what the culture of the company is like and it overall was just a better interview experience. If you’re thinking about applying for Lyst then I’d 100% recommend it!
