I had a brief 20 minute phone call after which I was asked for references. I was then called in for an in person interview on site. The phone interview was for me to get a basic background on the company. I was asked some basic questions such as how my work could be applicable to other systems, what is the technique I would consider myself to be an expert in. As another interviewee noted, I was not contacted by the company again after the in person interview even though I sent them a thank you note and then a follow up note about 2 weeks after the interview asking about the status. The least the company can do is to send a note that the candidate was not accepted.
