If you're considering interviewing here, be prepared for a long and repetitive process. I went through several rounds over three months with the same two people, culminating in a final in-person meeting with the National Sales Director in Montreal. Ultimately, I was told that my lack of industry experience was the deciding factor, despite this not being raised earlier in the process—and despite the fact that the hiring manager himself came from outside the industry.
Throughout the process, I was told that deep product knowledge wasn’t a requirement, but in the end, it seemed to play a much bigger role than initially stated. If industry experience is a firm requirement, it would be helpful to clarify that earlier in the process rather than after multiple interviews and significant time investment.
On the positive side, the recruiter was professional and communicative, but candidates should be aware that this is a highly structured and extended hiring process. If you're coming from outside the industry, you may want to clarify expectations early on to avoid a similar experience
