I sent the application via their careers website and HR was pretty quick to get back to me to arrange an interview.
The interview was mainly going through the resume and behavioural questions.
However, the HR representative had little to no knowledge of the role and she could barely tell me what the job was about. Luckily I knew the job so I could fill in the gaps myself.
Then she asked if I was open to consider other open positions too. Again, she could not explain to me the difference between the jobs that she was recruiting for. I understand that she had joined 4 months ago but surely she knows something about the roles?!
The interview ended with her telling me that she'd check my salary expectations with the hiring manager and she'd get back to me in 2 days.
Heard nothing.
I waited about a week then sent an email to follow up. Again, nothing.
This is the first time that I've got to the interview stage with a company and they did not even bother with a generic rejection email.
Ghosting your potential candidates is not a respectable way to act! Not to mention that they offer salaries about 10k below market.
