      Entretien

off resume in-store. Completed 100 multiple choice questions. Took 15-20 mins. Don't overthink your answers here. They're pretty straight forward q's that help the manager get to know your personality. The manager thanked me for my time and said she would call me later if my results matched what they were looking for. Got a call a few days later from Assistant Manager asking to come for an interview. Turned out be a group interview, but wasn't as bad as I expected. She took us to a sitting area in the mall. It was a week night, so it wasn't very crowded. She was very nice and made all of us comfortable. She introduced herself and told us about how she started working at maurices and why she enjoyed working there. After she introduced herself, we went around saying our names. Then we played a game where we had to give three statements (two truths and one lie) and everyone had to guess the lie. I thought it was a pretty nice ice breaker and fun way to get to know each other a little bit. Then she told us she was going to ask some questions. It was our choice to answer them. We wouldn`t be pressured to talk if we didn`t want to. She had a clip board and pen in her hands and wrote notes as we went along. She asked mostly situational questions such as: - Tell me about a time when you delivered exceptional customer service - How to greet a customer entering the store? - What would you do if a customer was trying on something that didn't look good on her? - What would you do if you caught a customer stealing? - Tell me about a time you persuaded someone to do something There was a list of q’s she was reading off of, but she only asked about 5 because most were repetitive. After that, she told us a little bit about the store. At the end of the interview, she asked for references and told us we'd get a call in a few days. After four days, the assistant manager called me telling me I passed the first interview, and if I would accept going on to the next interview. I did and we set up a date and time. My second interview with the manager was 1 on 1. She was really nice and outgoing, we ended up having more of a conversation than an actual interview. Questions she asked me were: - Tell me about yourself - What do you think Maurices focuses on most? (I dont remember the exact wording of the question, but talk about how they focus on delivering exceptional customer service. Stress that the brand/company image should always remain positive.) - How does one get along with their co-workers? - How would you maintain a team environment based on the goals of the company? - Can you sell? Sell me this pen. - How do your previous skills related to this position? I can't remember any more, but those were the main ones. After I would answer a question, she would comment, or vice versa, and that's how it lead to a discussion more so than an interview. We'd be talking for quite a bit (non-interview related) before she'd go on to asking the next question. She asked me if I had any questions. After that, she told me about the position, how many they were looking to hire, the company goals, my wage expectations, etc. The way she was talking in depth to me about the position felt like she would hire me. They were hiring 10 new associates. She already chose 5. The interview was held on Saturday, she told me she'd call me back Thursday latest, because she still had to interview a few people and do some reference checks. I didn't receive a call on Thursday, or Friday, or any time during the weekend, so I assumed she found other people she wanted to hire. Then she called me Thursday morning, almost 2 weeks after our interview, offering me the job! She said it took a while to call me back because some of my references weren't available. Due to company policy, she had to do a background and reference check before hiring me, and thats what took so long. I thought the interview process took much longer than it should have, considering the fact that they were hiring for Christmas time seasonal associates. Overall, it was a nice experience. The associates and manager were very nice, and made me feel very welcome. For your interview, just remember to smile a lot, and answer every question they ask, especially in the group interview. They're looking for outgoing, bubbly, social people who love to work with customers. They interview A LOT of people, so be sure to make a lasting impression!

In the back room, no styling a mannequin as seen sometimes, pretty average but some confusing questions, questions about experience, scheduling, pay, skills, how to resolve conflicts, your relationships with customers or coworkers , accomplishments, etc.
