I applied online through the maurices career center and had an interview set up about a week after. The store that I interviewed with is set up so that the "store manager" is also the district manager, so there's someone underneath her that acts as the store manager when she's not around.
I first met with the acting store manager on a Monday (8/3) morning. The interview itself was very simple, full of your typical retail job questions about customer services, driving sales, etc. The woman that interviewed me was very nice, but she seemed a little unfocused during the interview. She did say that she had just started doing them, so it could be that she was trying to make sure she was doing everything right. At the end of the interview, she told me that she would be sending me an email to fill out some more information, so if I didn't get it by Wednesday to give her a call. So that Wednesday I called back since I had not received an email, and she ended up setting up my second interview with the district manager for that Friday.
That Friday (8/7, four days after my first interview), I went in and met with the district manager. She was very nice and seemed more comfortable interviewing. She asked me basically the same questions as my first interview, and then told me that I would hear back from her within a week. The following week when I was waiting to hear back from her, I went to a maurices closer to my house and bumped into her since it's a part of her district. I was told that she still had another interview on Friday (8/14) so it would be a few days longer. After not hearing anything by Tuesday (8/18), I called the store again to follow up and was told that I would hopefully hear back by Friday (8/21).
It is now Monday, September 1, almost a month after my initial interview. I still have not heard back from anyone. I have since accepted a different job elsewhere simply because I need money, but I am very disappointed that this interview did not turn out to be anything. I was looking forward to hopefully starting my career with maurices and moving up in the company, but it appears that the opportunity never presented itself. If I do end up getting a callback, I will update this post to say exactly how long the process took from start to finish.
