HCL/Vdart/Peloton
1. Can’t speak English
2. Don’t care
3. Can’t tell you anybody’s name or company because I can’t understand the words coming out of their mouth. ~50 phone calls and 50 emails over that time. Sometimes 6 a day
4. Long Term Contract rather than C2H / No reason to invest in company
5. HCL farmed this contract out to IDK how many companies, none of whom speak English / don’t care
6. Tried to cheap out on contract (“$19/hr on 1099” and variations)
7. No health insurance. If I get in a wreck on the way to work or something happens at work, tough, next person up
8. Talked to so many companies I didn’t remember which was who
9. Finally agreed to $24/hr with benefits with some company, can’t remember who
10. Got submitted
11. Didn’t hear back for weeks
12. Finally got contacted by vdart who got me interview with HCL
13. HCL told me not to ask Peloton when I was going permanent (another “why invest in Peloton at all?” moment) because that was why the person that I was replacing was being let go (I don’t buy that that was the only reason)
14. Got accepted by Vdart, got sent paperwork, employment agreement contained paragraph G, I declined to sign it, got called 3x the next day by (again people whose names I don’t know because I can’t understand a word they say over the phone because they don’t speak English) wanting to know what my problem was with it
15. The next day (Thursday 12/30) I got Simon who asked me the same questions then told me he would get back with me by EOB that day. He did not.
16. No contact next day, next day, next day, next day, finally contacted >5pm Tuesday asking me to report the next day. Laughed my a** off. Told them I had interviews scheduled. Simon said “I’m just trying to help you out”. Really? BS. You’re going to look bad to HCL and Peloton is all you care about. Got to talk to Don who texted me asking me to give him a chance to make it right. When I asked him how he would do that he said he would be my only contact at Vdart (as though that was uncommon. It’s called a SPOC [single point of contact] and is common most contracting agencies). I said “what do you think that’s going to fix from previous” never got an answer.
17. Don said he would be my only point of contact at Vdart. That lasted less than an hour
18. HCL emailed me. Two lines in an email “sincerely apologizing for inconvenience”. I emailed him and Don back telling them if they really wanted to fix this, send me a check for six months’ salary nonrefundable. For 12 months salary nonrefundable I’d tell Peloton that Vdart and HCL screwed up but that they fixed it. That was Tuesday 1/4/21
19. Repeatedly asked Vdart for street address/contact name for Peloton onsite, never got it till Tuesday night.
20. Now getting emails from Vdart wanting me to sign the revised agreement. I previously told Vdart I had no confidence in anything they did or their ability to do it and that they did not want me on site at Peloton. They could care less. All they care about is looking bad to Peloton.
