      I applied and was contacted via email to schedule an in person interview three business days after my application. The in-person interview took place about a week later. The building is a renovated warehouse in a once industrial part of town. I was taken into a conference room and asked a bunch of standard interview questions by the person who would have been my supervisor. She also asked personal questions like what I like to do outside of work (hobbies). At a certain point she left and the owner came into the conference room. Speaking with him was like an interrogation consisting of back to back questions. I believe he was purposely applying pressure to see how I would cope under stress. I did not find him friendly. Transparency is supposedly a big thing with this company and I think he was trying to get honest answers, not just the standard replies. However, when honest you could tell that he did not like the answer given or was looking for a specific answer. It was rather like being with a police interrogator and a psychoanalyst at once. Based on the culture I observed and the questions/style of questions asked, I believe they are looking for a very specific type of person. In my opinion, if you are the sort that likes an open floor plan work environment, craft beer in a fridge, trendy, youthful coworkers, and expect to be best chums with your coworkers, this might be the place for you. If you think you are hired to do a job, want to do an excellent job, yet wish to separate work/personal lives and happen to be introverted, this company does not seem like it would be a good fit. Also, they are a start-up with a small staff. I was told multiple times that they hire slowly. It also says in their handbook they hire slowly and fire quickly.
