The interview started with a lot of questions regarding living in China (which was in the job description) before I heard anything at all about the job itself. The interviewers were difficult to talk to, saying things like "this wasn't the question", and "you need to think about your priorities" after I hesitated taking a vacation day to do a 1h translation test. You must show some flexibility and allow potential candidates time to perform any testing. Even if they need to be monitored. As interviewers, they did not make the job look good or interesting. And the pay would be less than my current salary. They were honest in telling me that the job was in China because of budget. It is much cheaper to send someone to China than keeping them local. Again, not so appealing. After the translation test discussion, that made me feel like I had to drop everything (they told me to fake a doctor's appointment), they quickly concluded the interview and hung up. I believe the first interview should have been held by an HR representative, who know how to recrute. I am glad to be moving on from this terrible interview.
