This process was a long one. They have a detailed interview process in making sure you are a good fit for the company.
I went through 3 total rounds. The first was a prescreen with HR to see my background and why I applied for the company.
My 2nd interview was a group panel where I learned more about the job and also the company lifestyle.
Finally my 3rd interview again was a group panel in where they asked marketing questions and my background.
My issue is I mentioned in my prescreen that I do not have direct experience in working with non-profit companies however, I mentioned I had experience in marketing since I have agency background. The job description doesnt mention that you needed the direct experience either or I would have not applied.
Even though the actual interviews were conducted well I think the overall was a waste of time when I got a phone call stating that I had no direct experience so they went with others. Basically put a bad taste in my mouth because I didnt really have a chance in getting the job.
My advice is that put in the job description that direct experience is preferred so that way we decide if we want to apply or not.
Again I dont understand companies who expect to hire people when you are in a specialized area for B2B and want someone with 5+ years of marketing plus direct experience. You wont always have that option.
