I applied for this role which came up to me via LinkedIn, as I had job alerts on. After completing the simple application through Linkedin. I heard back from the HR team at PA Consulting via email the next day to set up an initial call. HR Screening - The first stage was a quick call from a member of the HR team, who asked about my experience and reasons for applying. This seemed to simply be checking my eligibility and that I was aware what I was applying for. During this call HR clearly described the next steps of the process, timings and answered questions I had. Written exercise - Shortly after the HR screening I received a call to book in my case study and interview sessions. They said I would complete a written exercise prior to these sessions, of which I had 7 days to complete. They sent the written case exercise via email exactly 7 days prior to my case study interview. It required that I prepare one PowerPoint slide answering a case brief related to the capability I was applying for. I sent this back via email prior to the case study interview so they could review. Case study and competency based interviews - This began with the case study in which they sent be another brief for a mock scenario and I had 45 minutes to prepare for a meeting. During this meeting, the interviewer acted as the client and asked me several questions about the mock client situation. The session was tough but fair and very relevant to the role that I was applying. Straight after this, I completed the competency interview with different Prinicpal consultant. This covered questions around my experience, skills and motivations for joining PA and being a consultant. Partner interview - The partner interview was the final stage prior to receiving a decision. The partner interview was around 30 minutes long and ask questions about my understanding of the role, experience and reasons for joining PA. They asked about my knowledge of the capability and industries I was applying to align too and my individual working style preferences. Offer - This is the point where I received an offer and began referencing and document checks. Overall - This process was long and thorough, but felt fair and reasonable at all stages. Due to scheduling it took several weeks to progress through all these stages and get an offer but this was understandable. All stages were completed remotely for myself, however it was expressed that these are sometime done within the London office. At every stage and seniority, the people at PA were very approachable and excited to hear about my experience. They all answered my (sometimes challenging) questions about the role and industry, and helped ensure I felt comfortable about the company.
