      Entretien

I participated in an interview process with this company that spanned nearly four months and approximately eleven interactions, including being flown to LA. I genuinely enjoyed the people I met—everyone was friendly, kind, and engaging. However, the process itself was frequently delayed, with multiple interviews labeled as “final” followed by additional rounds and long periods of silence. While it was evident that HR was doing their best to manage shifting information, it felt disorganized and lacked decisive leadership. Strong confidence was communicated regarding my candidacy, which made the prolonged process particularly confusing. A hiring timeline of this length suggests difficulty in making decisions—especially for a role where qualifications, experience, and brand alignment should be identifiable much earlier. During my visit, a preference was mentioned for a candidate currently located in Miami. This was surprising, as location had never been communicated as a concern. It would have been more respectful of everyone’s time to clarify this before progressing further. The comment also felt short-sighted given my 17 years of experience in the Miami market. The company has a strong startup feel, which can be positive, but it requires clear communication and decisiveness—both of which were inconsistent. The process ultimately ended with a generic rejection email. A request for a brief feedback call went unanswered, and my travel expenses have still not been reimbursed weeks later. After months of interviews, the lack of closure or acknowledgment was disappointing and spoke volumes. Leadership is demonstrated not only in vision and strategy, but in the willingness to engage directly and respectfully when decisions are being made. Considering how closely my experience aligned with the role, this felt like a missed opportunity and overall bizarre. While the people were warm and the brand compelling, the experience highlighted gaps in internal process and leadership. Not bad people—just disorganized and uncertain. I believe strongly in the impact of confident leadership. I still appreciate the concept and am rooting for them! *5 week update: It looks like my refund has been initiated but it was $45 short.. I cant help but laugh at how disorganized and inappropriate this is. What a mess...
