Over the top, unnecessary hoop jumping. I finally retracted my resume after all the shenanigans, realizing that the interview process likely reflected the overall environment. There were some negative statements about senior leadership, which was a huge red flag to me. Process: Sent in Application, Resume, Cover Letter Received email from internal recruiter to answer some essay-like questions. Sent answers back - took at least an hour. Was sent and took a "culture fit" quiz Met with recruiter - went way too long (3x the length I was initially told) Sent a test/Took a test to see if I was a competent human being Met with hiring manager - which was just a very strange experience. He told me that my answers were "wrong" but that "was fine, I can train you." [I used different phrases than he did, but said the same thing.) His questions were strange, and I recognized immediately that I no longer wanted to work for the company. I told the recruiter directly after that I was not a good fit.

Deeply impersonal process for a "people-first" role. They mass interview utilizing the 'one way' video interview process to weed out from 45 candidates. I found it incredibly ironic that a firm hiring for a CSM role, a position predicated on human connection and rapport building would choose such an automated, impresonal mass eval method. If a company is optimizing the personal connection by removing the person from the interview it comes across to me a dedicated attempt to automate every aspect possible for a CSM role. It was an immediate disconnect that I couldn't overlook. Good luck to the candidates, but this approach was a massive red flag for me. I pretty much 'mailed in' my responses. Suggestions, be robotic and be theatrical like how they joke on TT with tech these days.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I understand how a one-way interview can feel impersonal, especially for a role centered on building relationships. I do want to clarify a few points for context. This step is not sent as a mass, automated invite. We personally reach out to candidates before inviting them to this stage, either by phone or voicemail, to explain the process and answer questions. We also share direct contact information so candidates can connect with us at any point. At the time of this role, we received 700 applications and had narrowed the pool to a smaller group for further review. The one-way interview is one of the tools we use to ensure we can fairly evaluate candidates at that stage without overlooking strong applicants due to volume. Every submission is reviewed by our team, and we provide individualized feedback to candidates who complete this step. This is especially important to us given how challenging the job market can be. As a remote-first company supporting global customers, asynchronous communication is also a meaningful part of the role, and this step helps us assess that in a practical way. We recognize that not every approach will resonate with every candidate, and we appreciate the time and effort each person puts into the process.

Certainly! Here’s a concise and refined description for Glassdoor: "The Pharos interview process was straightforward and well-organized. It began with an initial phone interview, followed by a set of written questions to assess my qualifications. Next, I completed a cognitive test, which was fairly standard. I then had a final interview with the Vice President of Customer Success. The process was thorough yet efficient, and I appreciated the clear communication at every step. Shortly after, I received an offer."
