The hiring process was disorganized and showed a lack of respect to the candidate's time on the company level. Among the major red flags - 1) poor communication from the main recruiter, including clarity on hiring timeline, steps needed, etc. Emails were often not responded to in a timely fashion or at all. 2) a references check randomly was initiated BEFORE the final interview round without formally emailing the candidate as a courtesy - got the email notification only from the third-party instead a message from the recruiter himself explaining the step or any additional details - such as the reasoning for six different references or the deadline. This step was never brought up or communicated earlier in the process. 3) The rejection email came in the form of a system email after more than a week of radio silence from the recruiter without any direct communication. Emails asking for feedback went unreturned, as usual.
