      Candidature

J'ai postulé via une autre source. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Pi (San Bruno, CA) en janv. 2018

      Entretien

Hands down, one of the worst candidate experiences I've ever had. I applied via AngelList and CEO reached out to me to set up a time to talk via Calendly. He was a no-show and since he's the CEO gave him the benefit of the doubt and scheduled another call with him. Big mistake. The call with him went well and moved to next round with their marketing person. She seemed very junior over the phone but nice. Next round was an on-site interview in their San Bruno office which turned into a fire-drill with high pressure to meet days earlier to accommodate the CEO traveling out of town. The CEO said they wanted to make a decision by the end of the week. The on-site interview was sophomoric at best which included a test without forewarning. During the interview, I heard from multiple employees that the co-founders were REALLY into feedback. When asked how they in-turn respond to feedback, both employees got uncomfortable and gave pretty lame answers. The day after the CEO said they'd like to move forward and asked for my references. After that, they went radio silent for two weeks, never calling my references. I emailed to follow up and the CEO responded and said they hired someone else. He had the gall after stringing me along for two weeks with references awaiting his call to give me FEEDBACK as to why I wasn't hired. What an ego. Don't waste your time here and candidate beware.

Hi there, I'm the CEO and co-founder of Pi. Thank you for your feedback. I'm very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your interview process with us. I agree that a two week wait for reference calls is unacceptable. I run this part of the process, so this is my fault. As you mentioned, we do take feedback seriously, and I've brought your comments to the attention of our recruiting team. We will debrief to determine how to improve. You’re also correct that we routinely provide feedback to candidates, even if we don’t make an offer, to explain why we decided it wasn’t a fit. We do this out of respect for candidates - I'm sorry that this came off to you differently. It would actually be much easier for us to just say "sorry we’re not going forward with an offer" rather than to be honest and open as to why we didn't think it was a fit. I understand this can be especially painful when you make it so deep into the process. I will work with our team to examine how we can improve this as well. Thank you for taking the time to consider a position with us. We wish you the best of luck. Sincerely, John MacDonald (CEO & Co-founder)
