J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris plus d'une semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Pivot en févr. 2022

      Entretien

Had my first interview with the course producer which started out pretty well. I pointed out some areas of the course outline that could be improved. He was very happy to receive my feedback and made the revisions to the course outline. He said that he would upload the document to Google Drive and asked that I take a look at it and make suggestions where I see fit. I did review the document but I wasn’t going to provide any additional feedback when I haven’t been hired and he was already mentioning “other opportunities” that may be available. Which I felt was setting me up for a lower or less desirable position. The second interview was supposed to be with the course producer AND the COO. The course producer said that the COO was not available for this meeting. I already started to get a very shady vibe that the course producer was only trying to get a professional opinion from me on how to improve the course and never had any intention of ever offering me the course curator position. He started speaking more about a “guest” role that was available. He later emailed me and confirmed that they would like to offer me a guest role that paid $200. I declined. I told him that I was more interested in the course curator role, and If they had already selected someone for the role, how did they not pick up on all the flaws in the curriculum? There were obvious flaws that any credible industry professional should have pointed out.

I wanted to reach out to you and follow up on your recent experience with our team and hear any feedback you might have so we can better communicate in the future and improve the applicant experience going forward. We believe in total transparency at Pivot, so I just wanted to elaborate on what our intent has been with the Curator hiring process and try to address any details that may have slipped between the cracks during interviews. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to make it to our second Zoom call. Another meeting was scheduled that conflicted with our time slot. Austin may have mentioned that as an international company there is a significant difference in time zones, so this adds another level of complexity. We have connected with a number of applicants on our search for a course curator, and given that this role will be intimately involved with course curriculum our intent was to ask candidates to review a working draft of our course outline so they might better understand the scope of the position. Any feedback shared in a second interview would also help us understand a candidate’s level of comfort and fluency functioning as a curator, but we understand that this may not have been clear at the time. As we expand and develop new course offerings, we try to consider an individual’s total set of skills and find any opportunity where they might have interest and excel with us. As a prominent expert in the industry, the Guest Speaker role offered was only intended to gauge your interest with any other capacity involved with curriculum development, in addition to the offered role. We have been working with other guest experts and professionals form across the country to craft our coursework, so we recognize and appreciate your input with our content. I want to apologize if our handling of the interview process left you dissatisfied, we want everyone to have a positive experience with us. We value any feedback you might have to improve our process. Thank you, Mariam
